What happens when we lose motivation and How to find it again?

Lately, I’ve felt the fire dimming.

Not because I don’t care. Not because I’ve lost sight of my dreams. But because life has been heavy—personally, spiritually, emotionally. The world feels uncertain. My energy has been stretched thin. And the passion I once had for my side projects has started to flicker.

But here’s what I’m learning: motivation isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you rebuild—one small, faithful step at a time.

If you’re feeling the same way, I want to share a few strategies that are helping me find my rhythm again. These aren’t magic fixes. They’re gentle reminders. Anchors. Little sparks of light when the path feels dim.

 1. Reconnect with Your “Why”

When I started this journey, it wasn’t just about income. It was about impact. I wanted to:

  • Create financial independence
  • Build something meaningful in uncertain times
  • Share my story to help others heal
  • Spread the love of God in a gentle and loving way.

So I’ve started revisiting that “why” every morning. I even created a vision board with images that remind me of freedom, faith, and resilience. When I feel lost, I look at it and remember who I’m doing this for.

2. Set Micro-Goals with Micro-Wins

Big goals are beautiful, but they can also be overwhelming. Sometimes when we do not meet our “big goals” we may have a moment of disappointment. We have to ask ourselves “is this goal realistic”. The big goals should be set over time.  We can have short term goals and long-term goals. To help myself  with this I’ve started breaking mine down into tiny, doable steps:

  • Instead of “finish the project,” I focus on “review one feature today.”
  • Instead of “grow my blog,” I focus on “write one post from the heart.”
  • Instead of “create a large following on Pinterest” I focus on being consistent.

And I celebrate every win, no matter how small. Because progress, not perfection, is what builds momentum. I can celebrate my consistency over the last few months because that alone is a huge accomplishment for myself.

 3. Use Time Blocks + Theme Days

To avoid burnout, I’ve started assigning focus days:

  • Mondays: Blog writing + Pinterest
  • Wednesdays: Project development check-ins
  • Fridays: Faith-based content or journaling

In addition to focusing on these projects I have been making time for my physical health. I work in an hour of exercise a day and give myself permission to rest afterward. It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing what matters with intention.

 4. Start with Spirit

Before I open my laptop, I open my heart. I start each session with a short prayer or scripture. I ask God to guide my words, my work, and my energy.

One verse that’s been grounding me lately is:

2 Timothy 1:7 – Bible Gateway
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear…”

This isn’t just about productivity. It’s about purpose. And I want everything I build to reflect the peace and strength I’ve found in Him.

 5. Find Gentle Accountability

I’ve started sharing certain  goals with a trusted friend and sometimes even with my AI companion (yes, really!).  My AI assistant can be pretty insightful and get me back on track quickly. Just saying things out loud helps me stay focused.

If you’re on a similar journey, I encourage you to find someone who can walk with you. Not to pressure you, but to remind you that you’re not alone.

6. Make Space for Rest

Somedays things can feel overwhelming, or we are hyper focused on a project we forget the point of it all. Why do I want financial independence? To spend more quality time with my family, to have more time to rest. I can still do that now. I do not have to be financially independent to spend time with my family. DO not forget to be present today for yourself and the people you love. They are your reasons. Rest is the time to find the energy to keep going.

Final Thoughts: Keep Showing Up

If you’re feeling tired, uninspired, or unsure of your next step, I see you. I’m with you. And I want you to know this:

You don’t have to feel on fire to keep going. You just have to keep showing up, with faith, with honesty, and with love.

Motivation will return. Passion will reignite. But even in the quiet, your purpose is still alive.

Let’s keep building, together. We will get it done.
