Accept What You Can\u2019t Change<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cCan I change what happened?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">And that realization, while painful, is also freeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>2. Ask What Holding On Is Costing You<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cIs this anger helping me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In most cases, it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">It keeps you emotionally tied to the pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>3. Make the Decision to Release It<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Forgiveness starts with a choice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>\u201cI will not allow this to control my emotions anymore.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">And sometimes, that choice has to be made over and over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>4.
